Welcome

The pictures on these galleries where taken over a period of fifteen years, from 1999 to 2016. Our first trip to the states was an escorted coach tour of the southwest with Virgin Coach Tours, which gave us the urge to visit more of this wonderful country.

In 2000 we returned with our two best friends. Flying into San Francisco and travelling to Yosemite via Modesto then on to Bishop, Las Vegas,San Diego,La Jolla, Anaheim, Cambria, San Simeon and out of San francisco.

We returned in 2002 flying again into San Francisco then onwards to Sacramento, Lake Tahoe, Reno, Virginia City, Lone Pine, Death Valley to Las Vegas followed by Zion, Page, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon staying at the El Tovar, Lake Havasu, San Diego and out of Los Angeles after staying in the Roosevelt on Hollywood Boulevard. Other places we have visited on our many trips are Durango, Silverton and Gallup staying at the El Ranho a famous route 66 hotel / motel. We returned to the awsome grand canyon on two other occasions.

Another favourite we visited several times was Monument Valley, we have also travelled Coastal Highway One from San Francisco to San Diego a stunning journey. From Durango we travelled on The Durango and Silverton Steam locomotive an enjoyable trip through the Rocky Mountains following the course of the Animas River.

We have returned to the states nearly every year to 2016, with the exception of 2008 when we travelled on the via Canadian train from Vancouver to Toronto stopping off at Jasper for two days. All being well we hope to visit more of this diverse country in the coming years.
